From Beginner to Advanced
Training can start with the absolute basics and progress as far as you want to take your photography.
For beginners, this can include understanding your camera, choosing the right settings, focusing correctly and learning how shutter speed, aperture and ISO work together.
For photographers with some experience, training can concentrate on moving into manual exposure, improving composition, understanding light and getting more consistent results.
For more advanced photographers, sessions can focus on professional techniques, portrait photography, lighting, advanced camera control, workflow, creative techniques and developing your own photographic style.

Training Built Around Your Camera
You do not need to buy a particular camera or equipment before training.
Bring the camera and lenses you already own and we can work with them.
One of the advantages of 1 to 1 training is that you learn how to use your own equipment properly rather than being taught using equipment that you do not own.
We can work through your camera menus, settings and controls and concentrate on the features that will actually improve your photography.
Practical Photography Training
Photography is best learned by taking photographs.
Where appropriate, training can take place with the camera in your hands rather than simply sitting in front of a computer or listening to me and a presentation, the combination works.
You will be able to take photographs, change settings, see the results and understand why the image changed.
This practical approach helps turn technical information into knowledge that you can actually use.
Learn From Experience
Peter Farrar is a professional photographer and published photography author with decades of photographic experience in both the United Kingdom and United States.
His photography books cover subjects ranging from the fundamentals of digital photography through to advanced technique, professional practice and photography law.
He has also trained photographers and understands that the biggest challenge is often not learning another camera setting, but understanding why and when to use it.
The aim is simple.
To help you become more confident, more knowledgeable and more capable with your camera.

Your Training Session
Before your session, we can discuss what you want to achieve and identify the areas where you need the most help.
The session can then be structured around your objectives.
You may want to spend the entire session learning your camera.
You may want to improve your understanding of exposure.
Or you may simply have a long list of photography questions that you have never been able to get answered.
That is exactly where 1 to 1 training works well.
No Jargon. No Pressure.
Most people never learn the fundamentals needed for constantly good results every time.
Photography can sometimes appear unnecessarily complicated.
There are hundreds of camera settings, technical terms and conflicting opinions about the right way to take a photograph.
The objective is not to overwhelm you with technical information.
It is to explain what matters, demonstrate it in practice and help you understand how to make your own photographic decisions.
You should leave your session understanding your camera better than when you arrived.
